I want to thank all of you who previously purchased mouthpieces from the collection sale. And I must deeply thank my dear friend Pete Berg who has been handling this project so very well. I could not have done this without his encouragement and help. SO, Pete still has a lot of extraordinary mouthpieces piled on a table in his home and I just think a reduction in prices might help encourage clearing his table and putting a few dollars in his pocket.

Even though the previous listed prices were based upon what Pete had compared on other sales sites, I decided to greatly lower them to encourage bringing this extensive project to an end and giving peace back to Pete Berg. Money was never the real issue. Clearing my studio was the real game!

Listed below by company are categorical collections of my lifetime accumulation of mouthpieces for trumpet, flugelhorn, and a few cornet.

Many of these are ones that I personally tried and used at various stages of my performing career. Others are ones that I purchased to use in teaching, some are ones that were given to me by friends, by fellow trumpeters, and some are very collectible because of who they previously belonged to, i.e., Blue Mitchell, Bobby Hackett, Del Staigers. There are also numerous prototypes from a few companies that were working with me in development.

They are in various stages of age and condition. My dear friend Pete Berg has been trying to “clean them” as best as possible but some are needing extra service if desired. Oftentimes the older collectibles are more valued in their present condition. After checking other online sales and seeing what were the “normal” prices, I decided to lower the prices for these in order to make them more easily available for collectors and players/teachers. Typically, I started buying and collecting mutes at age ten when I started playing the trumpet. Over the past 73 + years of playing, my mute collection has become “ridiculous”!
